Atmosphere of the Exhibition evening to 21:00 8/5/2007 at Motoyasu Bridge

The exhibition was held from evening of August 5 this year at Motoyasu Bridge as well. Fluorescent lamps were used due to many windows.

The shadow pictures created by the kindergarten pupils were displayed along with the windows.

They as creators took pictures with smile in front of their works.

It was calm in the midnight of Aug.5 with no busy events. Backpackers from overseas lengthily chatted about the shadow pictures.
Having visited the tombs, elderly women merrily talked to the guide students.
A sudden thunderstorm before dawn on August 6th. The sleepless guides prevented the works from getting rainy by covering sheets. No more worries for rain thanks to this ugly looking tent( fine weather continued after this)

Approaching to Toro-nagashi i.e. sending off the spirits of the dead on lanterns floated on the river ,numerous people began to crowd around. There were some with whom I interviewed for information to create the shadow pictures. They thanked me and shook hands for reminding them of their past sisters
This year the live show by Yoshiko Matui is scheduled. Entertaining you, the tune of old sweet memory will echo in the night sky.
A crowd gathers and begins to take picture. This has become a set pattern.

Behind the shadow pictures the local high school students and kindergarten pupils prepare for pasting the shadow pictures. It is a lucky charm that those who visit here in summer passing a exam.
